We had our first cooking class for the fall on September 22 and it was a smashing success. Marjorie demonstrated focaccia bread.
Here’s a review of the class:The cooking classes at the Olalliebrry  Inn gave me insights that I could not have gotten any other way. Watching the process taught me the importance of preparatiion,,critical timing, and other tips you don’t get from a recipe.  I especially enjoyed the warm, charming atmosphere of the Olallieberry  Inn. Looking forward to more classes!

I love this B&B. The best I have ever been to. The food was fabulous! The bed made you not want to leave. The house and grounds are adorable. The owner and staff, so hospitable and friendly.
I could not have imagined a better experience and loved every minute of my stay at the Olallieberry Inn. We have recommended this Inn to several friends.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The gardens are very refreshing. We will return!
The food is beautifully prepared, the rooms are comfortable, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
A beautiful home, great rooms, superior customer service by owners & staff, and an excellent breakfast. Extras are wine and hors’douerves from 5-6 each night, on-site massage and right in town within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. A real gem in California!
We did not want to leave, the food was GREAT, and the Innkeeper was a delight! We will go back many times On a scale of 1-10, we rate this Inn a 15!
Another wonderful five days at the Olallieberry Inn. Wish I could do this once a month!

Traveling north on Highway One, six miles north of San Simeon, you will discover our historic Piedras Blancas Lighthouse. Meaning “white rocks”, Piedras Blancas hovers majestically over the point and is in the process of being lovingly restored. Also being restored are the fog signal building, the fuel oil housing and the original Victorian lightkeeper’s home.
Construction began on the lighthouse in 1874 with the first Fresnel lens installed in 1875. Originally 110 feet in height, the lighthouse was damaged in a 1949 earthquake, leaving the tower a tad shorter at 74 feet. You can still see the light housing on display on Main St. in Cambria.
Tours of the Lighthouse are offered midweek on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:45am. Guests are asked to meet at the former Piedras Blancas Motel, 1 ½ miles north of the light station. Admission is free but a donation is requested.
Weekend tours are offered on the third Saturday of each month, 10am and 1pm, and feature guides dressed in Victorian costumes. Reservations are required and admission is $15 for adults over 16. Children under 16 are free. Guests are asked to meet at Hearst Castle.
For more information and reservations, call 805-927-6811 or email PiedrasBlancasTours@gmail.com or visit www.lighthousefriends.com

Â
One of the most popular attractions on the Central Coast is the famed Hearst Castle. It is a must-see for anyone traveling Highway One. And right now you can enjoy the Castle at night as one of Hearst’s own visitors might have. Evening tours are offered in the Fall and Spring and feature highlights from Tour One, Two and Four. Docents in period costumes from the Living History Program show you what life was like during the Castle’s heyday.
The Evening Tour takes approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes, including the bus ride to and from the hilltop. Visitors should be aware that the Evening Tour contains a large number of stairs.
Reservations are highly recommended and can be make online at Hearstcastle.com or by calling 800-444-4445.
