Nelson's TOP TEN ways to enjoy the Central Coast with your dog:

1) Fescalini Ranch Trail - Amazingly beautiful and very dog friendly. The trailhead is an easy walk from the Inn, this 440 acre preserve is full of wildlife and stretches for miles through fields, stunning Monterey pines, and more than a mile of breathtaking oceanfront. A memorable and fun place to hike with your dog. Dogs are allowed on leash.

2) William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach / San Simeon Cove - Off Leash adventure starts just a few hundred feet to the right of the San Simeon Pier. This is a jewel in the crown of San Luis Obispo beaches. Emerald-green water, abundant wildlife, and ample space to romp makes this dog friendly beach a top dog adventure. Cody gives it 5 out of 5 Bones!

3) Lunch at Bridge Street Café - A very short walk from the Olallieberry Inn to the most charming historic home and the most amazing lunch you'll ever experience! A locals favorite for sure.

4) Moonstone Beach Boardwalk - A one-mile boardwalk of wonder along one of the most scenic coastlines of the central coast. Here you'll enjoy the ocean's melody while watching whales, dolphins and birds.

5) Cayucos Beach - Just a short drive south is a very long beautiful Cayucos Beach where your dog can run free for miles. The beach is wide and the waves are usually small which make for a great frolic in the surf. 5 Bones!

6) Schooners Wharf - For a wonderful view of the beach and pier this local and tourists favorite is another dog friendly restaurant. They'll probably greet you and your dog with a treat and bowl of water. They have amazing fresh fish specials and some of the best shrimp tacos you'll ever experience.

7) Cayucus Unleashed Dog Salon & Spa - While you're in the area you may want to stop for a quick self-serve dog wash or wash and grooming. A wonderful privately owned business with great prices and terrific staff.

8) Cambria Dog Park - Off leash dog park in easy walking distance to the Olallieberry Inn.

9) Dinner at Robins! - Cambria is a very inviting and dog friendly town. This is one of many favorites of ours and just a couple blocks away from the Inn.

10) Evening stroll through historic Cambria and browse through many of pet friendly shops - don't be surprised if you see a "Pet's welcome - Children on leash only" sign. >;-)
